Abbott Mount

Situated at an elevation of around 1,981 m above sea level in the Champawat district, Abbott Mount is a picturesque hamlet. It is said that a British businessman, John Harold Abbott, was so mesmerized by the serenity of this place that he decided to develop it as a European settlement. In 191, he built a cluster of 13 cottages, sprawled over five acres of forest. Later, the place was named after him. Bestowed with various colors of nature, one can spot Himalayan birds, colorful butterflies and bright red burans (or rhododendron) flowers, especially in summers. Nature walk, trekking, angling, and photography can be enjoyed in this beautiful hill station.

Abbott Mount also offers a clear view of Himalayan peaks that lie on the eastern side of the Kumaon Hills - a panorama that makes for a stunning photo opportunity. 

Mayawati Ashram or Advaita Ashrama, Mayavati is popularly known as the Advaita Ashram is one of the famous visitor's attractions located in the Old Tea Estate area in the Lohaghat region of Champawat district of Uttarakhand. Many devotees from all around the globe come to enrapture in the sacredness of this ashram.

Banasur Ka Kila

This medieval-era fort was built in the memory of Banasur, a thousand-armed son of mythological king Bali who was slain by Lord Krishna. The fort, situated 7kms from Lohaghat in Champawat district offers a perfect vantage to view the majestic Himalayan peaks in its full glory. Vanasur Ka Kila also known as Banasur Ka Kila.

Pancheshwar Mahadev Temple is a sacred temple of Lord Shiva located at the foothills of the India - Nepal border, on the confluence of river Sharda and river Kali near Lohaghat in Champawat district. This temple is also known as Chaumu (Isht Devta) by local people. Here locales worship the Jaat of Chaumu. The temple is mostly visited during the Chaitra Navratri, a festival celebrated in the months of March-April by Kumaoni as well as the Garhwali people.
